How We Do It

At Blessing Packs, our mission is simple: provide essential items to people in need, packaged with care and delivered with kindness. What makes us different is our personal, hands-on approach. We don’t wait for people to come to us—we go out into the community and meet them where they are.

Small Packs – Everyday Acts of Kindness

Every month, we put together what we call our “small packs.” These are 1-gallon ziplock bags filled with carefully chosen essentials—things like snacks, drinks, hygiene items, socks, and other basic survival items. These small packs are compact, easy to carry, and designed to offer immediate relief to someone experiencing homelessness.

The way we distribute these small packs is part of what makes our process so personal. As we go about our day—running errands, going to school, or commuting to work—we keep a few of these small packs in our car. If we see someone in need, we stop, hand them a Blessing Pack, and offer a few kind words.

This simple interaction can change someone’s entire day. It’s not just about the items in the bag—it’s about showing compassion, respect, and acknowledgment to those who are often overlooked. It’s a small gesture that carries a powerful message: you matter, and you’re not alone.

Big Packs – Family-Led Outreach with Heart

Once a year, during the holiday season, we take our outreach a step further. On Christmas Day or the day after, our entire family comes together to create and distribute our “big packs.” These are full-sized backpacks filled with more extensive supplies, including clothing, gloves, hats, hand warmers, hygiene kits, and more.

These big packs are designed to help people get through the harsh winter weather and give them a sense of dignity and warmth during a time of year that can be especially difficult for those without shelter.

Our family loads up the car and drives throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, intentionally seeking out areas where we know people are sleeping outdoors or struggling to find help. When we spot someone, we stop the car, get out, hand them a backpack, and share a kind message of encouragement.

We don’t rush the process. We make eye contact. We speak from the heart. These are real moments of connection, and they are at the core of everything Blessing Packs stands for.

It’s About More Than a Backpack

What we do isn’t just about handing out supplies—it’s about offering hope. We want each person who receives a Blessing Pack to feel seen, valued, and worthy of better days. The supplies help, but the message behind them is even more powerful: you are not forgotten.

We’re not a large organization with warehouses or massive budgets. We’re a family that saw a need, came up with an idea, and decided to act. And for the past two years, we’ve been doing exactly that—one Blessing Pack at a time.

And we’re just getting started.
